Diana Bowen
Diana Bowen was born in Llanelly, South Wales. In 1949 she joined the drawing office of the Austin Motor Co. as a tracer. She started painting in oils at Wolverhampton College of Further Education in 1972 under Edna Painting and later joined the Dudley Art Circle (1976) where she exhibited until she moved to Jersey in 1978.
Greatly inspired by the Jersey land and seascape she continued her tuition with Gerald Palmer. Diana paints in all media but prefers to work in pastel.
In 1980 Diana with the help of Gerald launched the "Portelet Exhibition" which has had an excellent reponse by Art Lovers in the Island and from overseas. It has now become an annual event.
Diana is a member of the Jersey Artists Group and the Art Exhibitors Guild, exhibiting her work regularly. She has also had her work accepted and shown in the Pastel Society Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. Click here to view more pieces of art by Diana Bowen. |
